I would love to see Super Mario 3D World come to Switch. And is a clear reason many third parties abuse the ever-loving crap out of it.Īnd honestly, if more people got to play Endless Ocean or NES Remix through a port, the more likely I get a sequel. It's all good business strategy period to do this. And a reason Nintendo can release bunk sometimes (Sushi Striker, Flip Wars) and continue to do so. So in making ports, they serve multiple, business-oriented purposes.ġ) Keep the public eye on them, constantly announcing "new to you" ports and new games alike they can keep people talking about them (even if it's complaints of Wii U owners).Ģ) Creates fillers to the gap of releases, keeping something relatively new and available to play on the go, some may not be you, but there is always enough people who aren't you to be worth it.ģ) Fund new projects further, there is a reason Metroid Prime 4 can be affordable to delay and develop it to completion. That eats up money and consumer awareness, no one wants to buy a system and feel "ignored" all the time. Making new games take time, and more of it each passing generation.
